Career Coaching
Career and Career Change Coaching
Is career coaching right for you? And who do I coach?
I've coached for almost 20 years, with other experience in education.
My clients come from all backgrounds and careers.
These are some of the types of clients I work with.
You're in your 40s
Perhaps you are restless, bored, or aiming for promotion?
You could lack confidence to go as far as you might.
You could be going back to work after time out for family.
You're in a senior role but feeling the pressure.
Or, you're aware that the career choice you made isn't 'you' now.
You're in your 50s
You're at the peak of your career but time-short for anything else.
Or, you're starting to consider change but unsure how or what.
You want to cut back on work or make changes.
You're in your 60s
You're not quite ready to retire and want to look at options.
Even re-train for something different. An unfulfilled ambition.
Or, you're planning to work part-time and want to plan your work-life balance.
And for everyone
Senior managers aiming to de-stress or improve time-management.
Women going back to work after a break. Or clients made redundant.
Clients with a hobby or passion they want to turn into a business.
Clients considering leaving the corporate life and doing something creative.
Or clients already with a business they want to expand.
I understand how your work is important to you. As a professional, you've dedicated years to it.
I appreciate how it's daunting to feel it's not right any more.
You're pulled in several directions. Thinking about finances, work-life balance, and unsure.
How do you feel right now?
- Frustrated or disillusioned with your job?
- Out of your depth and lacking confidence?
- Communication issues with colleagues?
- Considering a new career?
- Have a creative talent that needs exploring further?
- Work-life balance not right?
- Ready to cut back on work and look ahead?
So how about some changes?
What would it take for you to look forward to work?
To feel your work makes a difference, not simply pays the bills.
To feel you are using your talents and drive in a job that excites you.
To rid yourself of the doubts, frustration, low satisfaction, stress (tick one or all) that you have now.
To find the right balance between your work and other commitments, like your family or relationships.
How does it work?
Career coaching (and career change coaching) is definitely not about me choosing a career for you.
It's digging deep into who you are, what makes you tick, what excites you. And how much of your time you want to give to work.
It's about work-life balance, so you're challenged and stimulated but not exhausted.
It's creating a structure so you stop thinking and start doing. Making small inroads into what you want to change.
I use coaching techniques - CBC (Cognitive Behavioural Coaching), SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timescales.)
Ask yourself...
- Are you happy with your current career or job?
- Are you thinking about changing careers or going back to work?
- Are you working in a career you chose at eighteen, now you're forty and a bit, and it's not 'you' any more?
- Are you stuck, want promotion or a change of direction?
- Have you been made redundant?
And if you are further along the line, we can work together on:
- CVs
- Job Applications
- Interviews and presentations
- Explore new possibilities
- Enhance your CV
- Improve your confidence
- Learn assertive behaviour
