Is coaching like counselling?
Both involve talking honestly about you and what you want from life. Both are fully confidential.
Coaching is about your future and seeing results. Counselling is more about looking back at why you are where you are. We do some of that in coaching but the focus is always on 'what now'. It's about you taking action.
At the end of each session you will have something to work on. Maybe research, changing your mindset, keeping a journal, practising new behaviours. Yes, we uncover why you are stuck and any bad habits that you can't let go of, but we focus very much on change, not simply talking.
What do I get as part of my coaching package?
A typical package includes your sessions, handouts or exercises given to you in your session or emailed and your Workbook.
You have my full support through your sessions, email and phone contact as and when you need it.
Is coaching confidential?
Absolutely. I work within the Code of Ethics of the Association for Coaching. Nothing we discuss will go further. (The exception is, like counselling, if your behaviour is liable to break the law or be dangerous to others.) I sometimes write about topics linked to coaching but be reassured that none of my clients' experiences or identities are ever used.
Can you guarantee results?
Many of my clients have taken huge steps in their lives as a result of coaching; leaving abusive relationships, finding new jobs, changing careers, becoming more assertive. I do my very best with all my clients but you are the only person who can make changes to your behaviour and your life. I will do my utmost to support you but no coach can guarantee any outcome because you have to do the work.
What's your Workbook?
Top Tips to ensure great progress between your sessions.
My workbook is a 30+ page interactive document full of inspirational tips and exercises.
Use it between sessions are once your coaching is complete to keep yourself on track and stop falling back into old habits.
Phone, Skype or face-to-face?
All are available. Phone and Skype work really well if you are short of time or work full time. Many coaches work only by phone or Skype.
I do offer face-to-face but these sessions are limited availability to two days a week. Let me assure you that phone is not inferior
to face-to-face; in fact many people find it easier to focus and be totally open on the phone. If you want evening sessions (after work, for example) they will be by phone or Skype. Fees are based on whether we work face-to-face or by phone.
Where are face-to-face sessions?
I coach from a comfortable office in a private office building in the centre of Hitchin. There is a confidential buzzer entry system. There is one flight of stairs to the first floor.
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on how coaching is delivered: face-to-face, phone or Skype. As a guide, the Clarity Package is £150, face-to-face.
I will provide you with a written estimate after you have had your free initial chat, without any obligation.
