Do you want to write? For fun? For publication? As a personal ambition? If so, let me mentor or coach you. Whether you fancy trying your hand at journalism or writing a non-fiction book, I can promise you expert help as someone who knows the trade.
I can help you decide what to write and support you while you work on it.
You might want to write non-fiction, features, fiction or professional documents for your job.
I'm a published author of two self-help books. I combine coaching with writing occasional features for national broadsheets, magazines and websites. These include the Telegraph's Family Section, and the health website Patient. I usually write on topics related to personal development and family. Take a look here at my writing.
How it works
This is a bespoke form of coaching/mentoring. Once I know what you'd like to achieve, I'll put together a package for you.
It could include phone, email, Skype and perhaps face-to-face contact. It could include helping you generate ideas, or reading what you have written.
I've written two non-fiction books. I know how publishing works; what you need to do to stand a chance of having your book published.
I can coach you from the ideas stage - helping you choose an idea that is marketable, if you want to be published, through to your final synopsis for a publisher.
Two of my former students now have books published, including one whose two books on Pilates are published by Bloomsbury.

My support around writing fiction is limited to coaching but not reading your work.
For this I suggest you look at the website of The Writing Coach (where I am a non-fiction consultant.)
Glynis provided me with structure, discipline and the confidence I needed to finally put pen to paper, stop procrastinating and to write the book that had been in my brain for years. Without her as my writing mentor, I doubt the book would have seen the light of day. Now I’m about to have my second book published. I can’t recommend Glynis enough as a writing coach and mentor who understands both the publishing world and also how hard it can sometimes be to actually have self-belief in one’s ability.’

Just wanted to let you know that I was told yesterday that Pen & Sword love my proposal and
will be sending me a contract! Thank you for your guidance - I’m certain it made the world of difference.
